Type of tournament

In each division and category there will be preliminary rounds. Based on these rankings, the tournament continues in a head table and a 2nd table.

We strive to make 4 or 8 pools with 4 players for each category and division. The upper half from each pool plays in the head table, the lower half from each pool plays the consolidations. In the tables, the tournament continues in a knock-out system.

The double and mixed double competitions will be played according to a Fins model.

Categories and divisions

Categories:

- Singles (men/women)
- Doubles (men/women)
- Mixed doubles

Divisions: An A, B,C, D (recreational) division for each category.

A division: provincial, national or international (competition) experience
B division: strongly advanced players with regional or provincial (competition) experience
C division: advanced players with limited (competition) experience
D division: recreational players, starters or players with little or no (competition) experience.

It will be possible to participate in every category, the schedule will be such that there's no overlap between the different categories.

Pay attention! If you register for multiple categories, you must always play in the same division! This is the division you registered for when subscribing for the single competition. Example: if you register for the B division single, you'll have to play your double or mixed double matches also in the B division. Make sure this matches with your possible future partners when you register!

Event conditions

- The number of games played depends on the number of participants and the number of pools. However, for each category a minimum of four games per person will be played.

- Each game is played in a best-of-5, except for the main table (quarter, semi and finales) and consolidation in the single player competition. These matches will be a best-of-7.

- You always play in the same division (A,B,C or D) for each category for which you register.

- Be sure to bring your own bat and (warming-up) ping pong balls. Balls for play during the games will be provided, as well as a limited number of reserve bats if needed.

- During the preliminary rounds, players score and record the games themselves. During the finals, referees will be provided.

What is table tennis?

Two players, a table, a bat and a small ball: that's all you need to create an exciting game of table tennis. Fast reactions, flexible movements and an excellent eye-hand coordination are essential to compete in this tournament. The pace of the game makes it very attractive to watch and the adrenalin during the play itself is unequalled. Definitely a sport you have to see and encounter!
